Learn how to use COCO in 5 simple steps

Chizel’s Online Customer Order (COCO) is India’s first smart digital manufacturing platform aimed at making 3D Printing simplified, convenient and accessible to the masses.

COCO is a dedicated space for businesses and individuals who want to discover, learn, and participate in 3D Printing related activities and access best-in-class 3D printing design and services.

The intent of this article is to acquaint you with COCO and its usability. Please find the steps mentioned below to access and explore COCO:

Step 1: Login

To log onto COCO, you’ll have to visit www.chizel.io
Upon visiting the website, you’ll come across a page as shown below.


You may now click on the red “Upload File (s)” tab or click on the “Login” button on the top right-hand corner of the page to log onto COCO. You’ll have to sign up by creating a new account. After signup up, you’ll be redirected to the Upload page.

Step 2: Upload the files

To upload your 3D CAD files, click on the “Add files” tab or drag and drop your files onto the “Add files” section. Currently we accept files in *.obj, *.stl, *.igs, *.wrl and *.step extension types only.

Upon uploading all the relevant files, you’ll have to select ANY ONE of the uploaded files you want to first process, by checking the circular tab against the file name as shown below.


Kindly note that, you can upload multiple files at once, but you can only process one file at a time. Upon processing the first file, you will be able to access rest of the files which can then be processed later, individually.

Click on the “Next” tab at the bottom of the page to agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

and proceed to the next step.

Step 3: Selecting the right material

Once you have selected the file to proceed with, you now will be directed to the Materials page. Here you will see a 3D viewer displaying the part geometry under which you’ll see parameters like part name, surface area, part volume and part dimensions.


You may either scale the part or keep the original dimensions. You will also see a “units” tab against part dimensions; you can change the units, if desired.

After verifying the file details, you may now choose the material depending on your application. In case you want to know more about the material and its offerings, you may click on “View Details” under material name. After clicking on it, you’ll see a window (see the image attached below) which lists material characteristics in brief.

To know more about the material, click again on the green “View Details” tab(shown above). You’ll be redirected to a new page.

In case you are unaware about the right material for your application, you need not worry. You may select, “Recommend Option” and proceed with placing the order. Our material experts will get back to you with the most suitable option for your part application!

Once you’re done selecting the material, click on the “Next” tab at the bottom of the page.

Step 4: Select Post-processing and Finishing

You can now select the processing options like painting, dyeing etc. and change the number of part quantities. For few of the materials, some of the post-processing options may not be valid eg: Dyeing cannot be done on ABS material. Thus you will not see Dyeing option if you have chosen ABS. Also, If you have selected the “Recommend Option“, all the Post-processing options will be disabled for the time being, as post-processing is dictated by Material selection.

At any point you are free to choose a different material by clicking on the “Edit Material” tab.


There’s a download file option below the 3D viewer wherein you can download the repaired file along with a detailed report(coming soon).

After finalizing the post-processing options and selecting the number of quantities, you may now proceed by clicking on “Add to cart”.

Step 5: Send Inquiry

Your file is now processed! You may now proceed to “Send Inquiry

In case you have uploaded multiple files, you may proceed with processing the rest of the files individually. The same will be highlighted under “Pending items

To process the pending files, select the file you want to process first and click “Print” tab placed against it. You will then be redirected from Step 3 in the same process flow.

In case you want to add new files which you haven’t uploaded already, you may do so by clicking on “Add another file” tab below the processed part.

There’s also a “Download Quote” option on the top right-hand corner, to generate a quick quote.

After proceeding with “Send Inquiry”, a receipt will be generated acknowledging that your order has been placed and is under review. You will then receive an e-mail from Chizel with a detailed quote and order specifics.

Kindly note that the receipt is a proof that your order has been received and is under review. It is NOT a receipt of order confirmation!

Chizel’s team will now analyze your order, and if the part geometry and order details seem to be in place, you will receive a confirmation e-mail with payment link stating that your order has been placed successfully! This is an intimation to you that we have started manufacturing the part adhering to the deadlines stated in the corresponding confirmation e-mail.
